SHEFit PT Now Offering Massage Therapy!

SHEFit Physical Therapy is excited welcome a massage therapist to our Pacific Beach location!

While many enjoy the occasional massage as a luxurious treat for Valentine’s Day or a birthday, others have discovered that they simply need to make massage a part of their regular health routine.

The Mayo Clinic supports massage for overall health and suggests that it is beneficial for many health concerns. Benefits of massage include helping reduce pain, stress, anxiety, muscle soreness, while also increasing relaxation, circulation, energy, and immune function.  Those struggling with anxiety, depression, and stress related concerns often find much relief from regular massage, without the negative side effects of medications used for the same conditions. Massage is more commonly being offered alongside standard treatment for many medical conditions in the wellness world today.

Massage therapy is an excellent adjunct to physical therapy. Often physical therapists have so much we want to address in a one hour session that we can’t take as much time as we’d like working through your muscular tension and restriction. Having a good massage therapist who can pick up where we leave off can speed your recovery. Seeing a massage therapist who works closely with your PT ensures continuity of care and an educated view to your condition.

We are excited to welcome Carissa Moheno to our SHEFit Pacific Beach office. Carissa  completed her massage training with a focus on therapeutic, Swedish, and deep tissue massage. She moved to California in 2020 and started her personal massage business MOH Massage Therapy. Carissa has a special interest in pregnancy and women’s health, and feels particularly called to relieve the physical stress of women of all ages.
